Teeing Off Kumar’s 50th Birthday

Golf-themed celebration for a beloved husband, father, and friend.
When Kumar's wife came to us to start planning her beloved husband's 50th, she wanted to make sure he was the center of attention! What a thrill to plan an event for someone who has a contagious enthusiasm for celebrations, life and so much love for his family and friends! Meeting Kumar, we were immediately taken back by his great sense of humor and love of golf. Starting with a sketch, we worked with Oakleaf Cakes, one of our favorite cake designers, to zero in on the details in the design. What about having them create a character of Kumar winded from playing a game of golf and so tired (which certainly is not like him) to blow the hole in one! We sent pictures of Kumar so they could replicate him and even put him in his favorite golf uniform laying on top of the cake.
Then we were tasked with another cake! The day of his party the loving couple would be celebrating their wedding anniversary and traveling to Italy the day after the party. A surprise cake from his wife to him. We just love hearing our clients stories — as they told us of their arranged marriage and their traditional wedding ceremony. I looked into what the bride and groom wore on their wedding day, and the places they planned to visit on their 25th wedding anniversary celebration. The couple sitting on the cake surrounded with the places they would visit on their trip-certainly these two cakes were a HUGE HIT!
Ok, now for the food, decor, design…flair bartender (tossing drinks with fire) and we set up two bars with golf themed golf balls in frames and golf themed drinks. Then there was the tables cape. How about diamond like linen in grass green (golf course) and buckets of golf balls and large pillars of topiaries with 50th birthday banners! Outside in October, we provided a tent with heat and this partying crowd showed us what its like to “take the cake” by partying thru the evening till the very next morning (4am to be exact)!
