Hannah + Connor’s State Room Wedding

The State Room | Boston, MA

On the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party!

Hannah and Connor were beaming with love for one another from the moment we all met. Every time we turned around there was a peck on the cheek or hi 5 or even there gaze that can make your heart melt. They told us about their love for the outdoors, skiing and growing up boating were something they had in common. Both went to college in New England and Boston was the place where they spent many thrilling nights out and about surrounded by family and friends. They were drawn to the views of the stunning State Room and so were we!

Our first walk thru conjured up some thoughts about how to warm up the vast space overlooking the city. Large, wide, tall ceilings and an unforgettable view of all of Boston highlighting the clock tower. Our team decided the event would be timeless and “Evergreen”, with a wintery warm color palette (evergreen, merlot, burgundy and tonal browns). We were able to address the couples concern about the room flip after the Ceremony (during cocktail hour) transforming the room to Reception. Our solution? To create a Speakeasy lounge feel in the cocktail hour facing inward as not to overlook the reception, therefore distracting the guests to not watch the room flip!

A wallpapered/mirrored and sconce backdrop enhanced the the long head table and black and white checkered dance floor (Hannah had always dreamed of) the centerpiece of the room. The romantic florals on assorted round and banquet guest tables enhanced with seasonal fruits, pomegranates, figs and grapes for texture were paired with luxe linens. When the couple was announced as husband and wife at the reception, a stunning art deco lighting display highlighted the ceiling.

There were so many well thought out details for this day (which coincided with the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party) but seeing our vision brought to life, was what made every second of their day absolutely perfect.
